Chrome Shelled Regios

Plot (From Wikipedia):
In a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutated beasts called Filth Monsters, humanity is forced to live in large mobile cities called Regios and learn to use weapons called DITE and harness the power of Kei to defend themselves. In the Academy City of Zuellni, Layfon Alseif is hoping to start a new life and forget his past. However, his past has caught the attention of Karian Loss, the Student Council President and Nina Antalk, a Military Arts student and Captain of the 17th Platoon, who instantly recognizes his abilities and decides he’s the perfect candidate to join her group. However, with a secret past that won’t leave him alone and unknown powers beyond normal, Layfon will have a hard time surviving this ordeal.

My Thoughts:
Well I did not intend to watch this series since I have quite a few on my list that I wanted to watch. I saw this and the title caught my eye so I watched it.

Surprisingly enough I got into it. I honestly did not have high hopes for this series since it was your typical plot but I definitely enjoyed watching this. Enjoyed to the point that I finished the series in two days. There is about 24 episodes. Some episodes were really good and some well, your typical filler episodes but it did give you a good background on the characters. The animation was off once in awhile but I can forgive it. I watched the subbed version since this just came out of Japan so from a dubbed version I can't really critique the voice acting. The Japanese voice acting was pretty good though. I didn't really like the opening song but I did enjoy the ending song.

Overall I give this series a 3.5 out 5. This will definitely not appeal to everyone especially those that like deeper plot lines.
