Zombie Loan

Plot (From Wikipedia):
Michiru Kita is a special girl who possesses Shinigami Eyes, a power which allows her to see a person's nearness to their destined death by seeing a ring, invisible to normal people, around the person's neck. When a person is marked to die, a gray ring appears, which darkens over time. Once the ring turns completely black, the person dies. Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana, two boys in her class, both have black rings around their necks, but to her surprise, they are not yet dead. It is revealed that after a tragic accident that was supposed to kill them both, the two boys made a deal with a secret loan office called the Zombie-Loan. In return for keeping them alive, the two have to hunt zombies for the loan office. When Michiru gets involved with them, she finds that her life has just become more complicated.

My Thoughts:
Another catchy title so I decided to watch it. This is more of a shonen and shojo anime, both genres were definitely mixed in together which worked well. There were some shojo-ai parts but not too bad and definitely did not dominate the series. I honestly did not have any expectations for this series since I was just kinda browsing around before I start anything on my queue.

There are 11 episodes total with 2 OVAs and did a marathon which was not too bad. It is not like doing a marathon for the longer running animes (Naruto, Bleach), if you know what I mean. I don't think it is for PG 13 viewing though. More like PG 17 if you ask me since it was more bloody than I thought and had some sexual elements but then again, the sexual elements were not dominant. It was more for background, if that makes sense.

This series actually surprised me. I liked the story a lot. My gripe, it was again too short. The 2 OVAs in the end, in my opinion, was a set up for a new longer running season but from what I have been reading, the makers of this series is busy closing up another series that is still running in Japan. Who knows what will happen? I just hope that they do another series. This series must've done well since it has already been dubbed in Spain, France and Germany...no English dub yet though which is weird.

Overall, I am giving this series a 4 out 5, definitely a must watch/see.
