Phantom: Requiem for Phantom

Plot (From ANN):
A spate of mafia assasinations occurs in America, the work of the mysterious organization named Inferno. "Phantom" is their most strongest and capable assassin, however a lone tourist witnesses Phantom's latest act of murder. He unwittingly exposes the top assassin's true identity, a young girl named Ein. Witnesses are usually killed, but the man is captured and taken to be brainwashed into "Zwei", Inferno's newest assassin, with no memory of who he is. From this point on, Zwei is drawn into a world of conspiracy, deceit and violence.

My Thoughts So Far:
This is still airing in Japan but the good news is the season is about to end so there are a lot of fan subs that will last you till the latest episode, similar to Guin Saga and 07 Ghost which I am currently watching too.

I have only watched 2 episodes so far and both have been really good. The animation is very sharp and the action scenes are great. This is more of a gun fighting type action anime and I am loving it even though I don't really like guns. I am definitely going to keep on watching this series. Oh yeah, the opening song is pretty good too.

Update 9/13/2009:
So I finally got to the most current episode in this series and so far it has been a really good series. Granted there are no "super" powers or anything crazy it has been very entertaining. The opening song I do like a lot. The ending song not so much. The series did slow down for a little bit in the middle of the series but it is starting to pick up again. It is probably because the series is about to end Season 1. This is one of the few times I wish the series has been completed before I started to watch so that I can do a marathon to the end. It is all good though. I believe episode 24 aired in Japan already so I am just waiting for the subbed version. I really love this series.

My Final Thoughts:
Wow is all I can say. This was a very good series. It had all the elements that you really like to see in a series. It keeps the audience engaged. I thought the ending was fair although I know a lot of people would be like "nnnnoooooo", if you know what I mean. This is definitely a "must own" for me. I wonder when this will come out as dubbed since this has been quite popular in Japan. I also hope they do a second season. 5 out of 5 beybi!!!!!
