Humans live in the world of Assiah, demons in Gehenna. The two dimensions are not meant to interfere with each other, but demons still possess creatures in Assiah in spite of this. The humans who can fight these demons are known as exorcists. Rin Okumura is a boy who bears the curse of being Satan's illegitimate son. His foster father sacrificed himself to save him from demons. To avenge his foster father's death as well as to prove himself, Rin decides to follow the path of an exorcist.
My Thoughts (updated):
I like a lot of the supernatural stories and nothing gets me excited more than a plot with exorcists. I have no idea why but I do tend to gravitate to at least watching one episode. This is definitely typical shonen but I enjoyed watching it. There were really funny moments. As this is the first season, it mainly focused on the background of the characters. The action was short in a lot of episodes and there really was no "big" boss fights. I think there will be a second episodes because they just introduced the "big" boss in the last episode. Definitely fun to watch.
So when I wrote this blog I thought the season ended...my bad. It actually continued on and I was not disappointed. The plot thickened and the action got better. It had a good balance of action, comedy and drama. I do have to say that I was sad that it ended. I hope they make another season.
