Plot (From ANN):
Based on Idea Factory's romance adventure game: Yukimura Chizuru has come to Kyoto looking for her father, a doctor who has gone missing. While there, she witnesses a fight between an Oni and the Shinsengumi. Taking her into custody, the Shinsengumi debates on what to do with Chizuru when they discover that she is the daughter of the doctor they are also looking for. The Shinsengumi then takes Chizuru along on their search after the missing doctor, from adventures to adventures.
My Thoughts:
Normally, when an anime is based on a game all sorts of bad things happen...bad plot, bad characters, inconsistent animation and the list goes on. Fortunately, for Hakuouki none of the above happened. I have always been a fan on samurai type anime and it was has been quite awhile for me to find something that I really enjoyed. The first season of Hakuoki was too short if you asked me but I enjoyed every minute of it...well I lie...there were some parts where it kinda got to kiddy for me but honestly I can look that over. I thought that the action scenes were amazing. Yeah yeah and it does not hurt that all the characters were "pretty". I am definitely watching season 2. If you like a lot of action with a decent plot...definitely one to watch.
So I watched season 2 and unfortunately I was not as impressed. I was thinking it be more action and they would focus more on the different characters but not so much. It actually became a love story. So for this I will have to decrease my rating for this. I honestly hoped that they would make it more action.
